Ingredients
For the Dough
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 scoop of High Whey Vanilla cake
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup warm milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
For the Filling
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp High Whey Vanilla cake (optional for extra boost)
For the Icing
- ½ cup Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative)
- 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or powdered sugar
- ½ scoop High Whey Vanilla cake
Preparation
- Make the Dough:
In a large bowl, mix the flour, protein powder, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Stir until combined, then knead for about 5–7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Cover with a towel and let rise for 1 hour in a warm place, until doubled in size. - Prepare the Filling:
In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and optional protein powder into a smooth paste. - Roll it Out:
Once the dough has risen, roll it into a rectangle (about 9x13 inches). Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough. Roll it up tightly from the long edge and cut into 9–12 even rolls. - Second Rise:
Place the rolls into a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. - Bake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes or until golden on top and cooked through. - Make the Icing:
Mix the Greek yogurt, maple syrup (or sugar), and protein powder until smooth. Spread over warm rolls.
