Here's the secret fitness pros don't always shout about: you don't need a fancy membership or a garage full of weights to get fitter, faster. You need a timer, a little space, and the willingness to work hard for short bursts.
That's the magic of HIIT. Below are 15 moves you can do in pajamas, plus a ready-made workout at the end. Fair warning: exercise #12 is the one everyone loves to hate.

HIIT stands for High-Intensity Interval Training. You go all-out for a short burst, rest briefly, then repeat. A classic format is 40 seconds of work followed by 20 seconds of rest.
Why people are obsessed with it:
The rule that makes it work: during work intervals, push hard enough that talking feels tough. During rest, actually rest.
These fire up the biggest muscles in your body, which means your heart rate climbs fast.
Squat down like you're sitting into a chair, then explode straight up. Land softly and sink right into the next squat.
Start in a lunge, jump up, and switch legs in the air. Land in a lunge on the other side.
Leap sideways from one foot to the other, like a speed skater. Swing your arms for momentum.
Bodyweight squats, as many as you can with good form. Chest up, knees tracking over your toes.
Stay low in an athletic stance and shuffle quickly three steps right, then three steps left. Touch the floor at each end if you want extra spice.
Flat-belly promises are everywhere. The truth: a strong core comes from moves like these, done consistently.
Hands under shoulders, body in a straight line from head to heels. Lower your chest toward the floor, then press back up.
Hold a high plank and jump your feet wide, then back together, like a jumping jack on the floor.
From a high plank, drive your knees toward your chest one at a time, as fast as you can.
In a high plank, tap your left shoulder with your right hand, then switch. Keep your hips as still as possible.
Lie on your back, hands behind your head. Bring your right elbow toward your left knee while the other leg extends, then switch.

Save these for the end. They're short, brutal, and oddly satisfying once you're done.
Run in place, driving your knees up to hip height and pumping your arms.
Squat, place your hands down, jump your feet back to a plank, jump them back in, and leap up with your arms overhead. That's one.
Crouch low, then jump up and spread your arms and legs wide into a star. Land softly and repeat.
Jump straight up and pull your knees toward your chest. Land softly on the balls of your feet.
On hands and toes with knees hovering just off the floor, crawl forward four steps, then back four steps.
Warm up for 3 minutes with marching, arm circles and slow squats. Then do each move for 40 seconds, rest 20 seconds, and move straight through all three rounds.
